The skin colour detector
The hair removal device gets rid of unwanted hair by targeting the melanin in the
hair. The amount of pigment in a person's skins determines its colour, but also the level of risk to
which it is exposed when using a method of hair removal by light, regardless of the method. This
is why hair removal based on pulsed light is not convenient for naturally dark skins and carries a
risk of side effects, including heating of the skin, burns, phlyctenes, and skin discoloration (hyper
or hypo-pigmentation).
The hair removal device was designed with a skin detector device that enables it
to check the colour of the skin to be treated before each flash. This sensor verifies that the energy
delivered is only administered to suitable skin types. This device will not allow you to treat areas
where the skin is too dark or too tanned.
Also, the optical window through which the pulse of energy is issued, and which represents a
surface area of 4 cm², is embedded in the mobile head. These elements will provide optimum
protection by preventing direct skin contact with the optical window.
