Normal Installation
3. Install the Stem Extension
Turn the valve to the off position by turning the stem clockwise
using the temporary shut-off knob.
Determine the correct stem extension for your installation:
• If no spacers were needed, the stem already installed is correct.
• If 1 spacer was installed, remove the thin wall stem and install
the medium wall stem.
• If 2 spacers were installed, remove the thin wall stem and install
the thick wall stem.
• The spline adapter should come installed in the correct position.
If the spline adapter comes off when the stem is removed, it must
be reinstalled correctly.
• To reinstall the spline adapter, position it with the seam in the 7
o'clock position.
NOTE: The stem must be correctly aligned for the rest of the
installation steps.
