4 Maintenance
Advise users to report the following to their practitioner:
• Tears in the fabric or the silicone
• Tissue damage on the residual limb
• Distal oedematous swellings (see diagram below)
• Enlarged perforations
• Changes in either body weight or activity level
• Deterioration/changes to the residual limb
• Changes in the performance of the device, for example:
• Moisture in the distal end of the device.
• Loss of vacuum.
