3.2 Specified Conditions of Use
The Filter-Master XL is designed to vacuum and filter the welding fumes arising
during E-welding at the point of origin. In principle, the device can be used in all
working procedures in which welding fumes are released. However, it is important to
ensure that no "sparks" are drawn into the filter unit from e.g. a grinding process.
The welding fumes emitted during the work process are released from thesuction
hood. Along with the exhaust air, they flow into the filter unit. Here, they are led
through the filter system consisting of a filter cartridge in which also the fine
respirable particles of smoke are removed with an efficiency of more than 99.9%.
The cleaned air is aspirated by the ventilator and led back to the working area.
For the extraction of welding fumes containing carcinogenic particles created
during welding of alloy steels (e.g., stainless steel), according to official
regulations, only units which have been tested and approved may be operated
in the so-called air circulation process.
NOTE
The Filter-Master XL IFA is approved for the extraction of welding smoke,
created during the welding of low- and high-alloy steels and meets the
requirements of welding smoke separation class W3 pursuant to
DIN EN ISO 15012-1.
When extracting welding fumes containing carcinogenic ingredients
(e.g., chromates, nickel oxides, etc.) the requirements of TRGS 560
(Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances) and TRGS 528 (Welding Works)
must be complied with.
NOTE
Observe the information in Section 10.2 on Technical Data.
It is essential to observe these specifications.
Intended use also includes compliance with the instructions
− on safety,
− on operation and control,
− on maintenance and servicing,
described in this manual.
Any other or further use is considered to be improper use. The operator
of the Filter-Master XL is solely liable for all any damage resulting from
this. This also applies for unauthorised modifications to the Filter-
Master XL.
