Preparing the rescue tripod for use:
Please note: It is essential for safety to ensure the vertical
alignment of the tripod. The telescopic legs can be extended to
different lengths and positioned for this purpose. If the tripod and its
components are deformed and/or the welds are cracked and/or the
screw connections are loose and/or the pulleys do not rotate and/
or the pins are inoperative, the tripod cannot be guaranteed to be
in a serviceable condition and functionally safe. If a component of
the equipment is not fit for use, the entire equipment will not be fit
for use!
Set up the tripod vertically (

Please note:Theripod (Fig. 5) does not have a stable footing when
standing on its castors.
To unfold the legs, push in the locking pins from both sides (
Swing the leg outwards until it audibly engages (
procedure for the remaining 2 legs.
Please note: Ensure that the tripod is vertically aligned.
Lock the three wheel brakes (
cross struts and fold them horizontally. Pull out the locking bolt
on the mushroom-type knob (
Release the mushroom-type knob. The locking bolt locks into place.
Repeat this procedure for the other two cross struts. Check that the
cross strut is locked correctly.
In order to adjust the height of the individual extendable legs, unlock
the socket pin (
) by pressing with the thumb and subsequently

pulling it out.Extend the legs to the desired length and secure the
latter with locking pins. Repeat this procedure for the remaining 2
legs.
For additional safety, always pull the brace supplied (
the lower eyelets (
) and pull it tight.

Release the three wheel brakes (

Then align the boom and lock the three wheel brakes (
The legs can be readjusted (pushed out to different lengths) to
compensate for uneven ground.
Ensure safe stand.
The 3 integral deflection rollers (
redirecting the steel rope of the IKAR fall arresting device HRA and/
or other ropes, e.g. of the personnel winch PLW.
The IKAR HRA device retracts the rope automatically as long as the
rescue lifting function is not engaged.
Please note: To disassemble the DB-A3R castor tripod, perform the
above steps in the reverse order.
