1.
Remove Underbody Panel – Ba sed on different models, remove (9) M8 fasteners a nd (5 to 8) M10 nuts and (1 to 2) plastic push-on fasteners (unscrew with standard screwdriver
whi le pulling down on panel). Detach the panel and set i t aside.
2.
Lower exhaust – Pry off (2) rea rmost rubber exhaust hangers using exhaust removal pliers or other s uitable tool (spray wi th soapy water to ma ke this easier). Be sure to support
exha ust sys tem to prevent damage.
3.
Remove Heat Shield – Remove the (2) remaining M10 nuts (one nut is a bove the muffler). Set the heat s hield aside. Note: for model year after 2020, hea t shield may be connected
to underbody panel a nd was already removed i n Step 1.
4.
Remove key proximity antenna housing- Di s connect wiring and remove key proximity a ntenna (retain) from housing. Trim / discard housing box at bumper s upport. (Figure 6)

Fishwire rearward bolts - Us i ng the fishwire method (Figure 4) i nstall the ca rriage bolts and 2" l ong blocks through the a ccess hole and i nto the rearward attachment holes, be
ca reful the blocks are not overlapping each other, l eave pullwires a ttached.
6.
Fishwire forward bolts - Us i ng the reverse fishwire method (Figure 5) i nstall the ca rriage bolts and 3" l ong blocks into the forward attachment holes, leave pullwires attached.
7.
Install hitch - Ra i se hitch into position, passenger side first over the muffler, guide the fishwire ends through the a ttachment holes, rem ove pullwire a nd i nstall the conical washers
(teeth side toward hitch) and ½" hex nuts onto the ca rriage bolts. Assure no wires or other i tems have been pinched between h itch and vehicle frame.
8.
Relocate Proximity Antenna- Us e the included zi p ties to secure the key proximity antenna to the relocation bracket. Reconnect wiring.
9.
Tighten all hitch fasteners with torque wrench to 110 Lb.-Ft. (149 N*M)
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
10. Trim heat shield – Tri m heat s hield according to Figure 2. Reinstall remaining portion of heat s hield. Note: for model year after 2020, If hea t shield ca n not be easily s eparated from
underbody panel due to metal rivet, do not tri m the heat s hield and return to vehicle owner.
11. Reinstall exhaust hangers – Ra i se exhaust back into position a nd reinstall a ll exhaust hangers.
12. Trim underbody panel - Tri m underbody pa nel according to Figure 3. Reinstall underbody panel. Note: for model year after 2020, do not tri m the underbody panel and return i t to
vehi cle owner.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged
should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cu t access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of N ew York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
