OPERATION: How to calibrate the balance
Your balance must be calibrated every time it is moved to a new location, i.e., the correct weight display must be adjusted.
Only then will your weighings be accurate. The balance must be left connected to the power source for 30 minutes before calibrating it (warm-up time). The plastic
draft shield should be on the PE360.
Depending on the balance model, certain test weights are needed for calibration. These weights are listet under "ACCESSORIES, optional" for each balance model. The
test weights should always be handled carefully and, as much as possible, should not be touched with your bare hands. If your balance equipped with a leveling kit,
it should be leveled before it is calibrated.

Checking calibration
– Press the single control bar (1); zero appears
in the display.
– Place test weight on pan an read the display
after the ring symbol (15) (stability detector)
has been blanked out.
If the balance displays the weight off the test weight
accurately to the last decimal place, calibration is
okay. If not, the balance must be calibrated:
Correct calibration as described in the middle
paragraph.

Correcting the calibration
– Press the control bar (1) until the display
indicates "-----", then release the control
bar..
– "- CAL -" appears in the display.
– Place test weight on pan, i.e.,:
100 g for the PE360,
1000 g for the PE3600.
Now the balance automatically performs its own
calibration.

After calibration is completed, the display indicates:
100.00 g in the PE360,
1000.0 g in the PE3600.
Note: if no weight or a weight different from 100 g /
1000 g is placed on the pan while the balance is
displaying "- CAL -", first "no CAL" appears, then
zero.
In this case, no calibration has taken place.
Note: Certified balances can be checked, but not
calibrated.
