Locking Clip Use
If you determine that you need
to use a locking clip, tighten the
buckled belt by pushing down hard
on the infant child restraint and
pulling hard on the shoulder belt.
While pushing down on child
restraint, pinch the two straps
together behind the buckle tongue.
Unbuckle the vehicle belt without
allowing it to slip.

- Connect lap and shoulder belts
with locking clip.

- Reroute vehicle belt if
necessary. Check that lap belt
does not move by pulling and
pushing hard on infant restraint.
If belt loosens or lengthens,
repeat procedure.
The locking clip should be 1/2
inch (12.5 mm) from the vehicle
buckle.
