Energy-saving tips
We recommend you follow the advice below to save energy
• Try not to leave the door open for long periods to conserve energy.
• Make sure that the appliance is protected from any source of heat (direct sunlight, electric oven
or cooker, etc.).
• Do not set the temperature to any colder than necessary.
• Do not store hot food or steaming liquid in the appliance.
• Place the unit in a well-ventilated room without humidity. Refer to the chapter on Installing your
new appliance.
• If the diagram shows an appropriate combination of drawers, bins and shelves, do not adjust the
combination as it has been determined as the most efficient energy configuration.
Tips for freezing
• When starting for the first time or after a period of downtime, leave the appliance running for at
least 2 hours at the highest settings, before adding food to the compartment.
• Prepare food in small portions so that it can be quickly and completely frozen and only the
amount required can be thawed later.
• Wrap food in aluminium foil or polyethene food packaging that is airtight.
• Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food that is already frozen to prevent its temperature
from rising.
• If consumed immediately after removal from the freezer compartment, frozen products are
likely to cause frostbite on the skin.
• It is recommended that each frozen package be labelled and marked to monitor the storage time.
