Traction should only be applied by clinically qualified persons
This accessory should be installed by two people
Refer to the bed instructions for use to confirm compatibility before using this
accessory
Do not use fracture frame components from other traction systems
Use the Attendant Control Panel to disable all bed functions when the fracture
frame is in use
Do not use the fracture frame with the bed in the extended position
Transport the bed at low height when the fracture frame is installed
Do not use the fracture frame to push or pull the bed
To prevent entrapment, the head end panel must not be removed from the bed
while the fracture frame is installed
Take extra care when moving the bed over irregular surfaces which may cause
vibration, e.g. lift entrances
When adjusting the bed, ensure that the frame and traction equipment do not
collide with other furniture or equipment
Traction cords and weights must be properly installed and securely attached.
Do not attach or suspend items on the fracture frame other than traction
equipment as specified in these instructions
Do not position traction weights inside the fracture frame or above the patient
Ensure that all screw clamps and pulley clamps are fully tightened
Do not install a lifting pole in the additional accessory sockets
The operational life of the strap and handle is five years when used and
maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. After this time,
the complete unit should be replaced
When replacing the strap and handle, always use an approved Arjo part
The strap and handle must not be used by persons under twelve years of age
Do not adjust the strap while a patient is holding the handle as this may damage
the mechanism. After adjusting the strap, make sure it locks with an audible
"click"
Do not twist the strap through more than 180 as this may cause premature wear
