ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

Electrical lines must be placed at an adequate distance from hot
parts.
We advise you to carry out all connections by using flexible electrical
wire, with a section suitable for the available voltage and absorbed
power.
FURTHER DETAILS ON MIXED BURNER
STARTING
We advise you to start the burner first with liquid fuel, since delivery
is, in that case, determined by the nozzle (or nozzles) used, while
you can change methane delivery as you want by acting on the
relative flow regulator.
SETTING OF LIGHT OIL STARTING
Be sure that the nozzles used are proportionate to boiler power.
When you choose nozzles (spray angle at 45°) take into account
that fuel delivery on first flame must not be considerably lower than
the lowest flow rate of the burner (see burner plate).
Be sure that the combustion mouth enters the furnace as required
by the boiler manufacturer.
Be sure that the return pipe to the tank has no occlusion, gate
valves are closed and so on. Any obstacle would break the sealing
member placed on the pump shaft or on the hose. Turn on the cut-
off device/s on the suction pipe. Exclude the connection or "bridge"
to the second flame thermostat. Turn on the air purging device
installed on the pump. Turn on the main switch (the switch on the
burner must stay at "O" = off) the pump motor relay by hand in order
to check the correct direction of rotation. If necessary, exchange
the two wires in the output main line of the relay for inverting the
direction of rotation in the motor. Connect again the pump motor
relay by hand for starting the pump and suck in light oil from the
tank. When you see light oil coming out from the air purging device,
stop the motor and turn off the air purging device. The burner is now
ready for light oil running.
LIGHT OIL STARTING AND REGULATION
1) Be sure that motors (fan and pump) are rotating in the right
direction.
2) Be sure that combustion products can be blown off without
any problem (open flue damper) and the boiler is not without

water.
3) Adjust the combustion air regulator to the amount you presum-
ably need (see BT 8653/1) and open the air way between head
and disk by one third. Disconnect the second flame thermostat
and give current to the burner by turning on the main switch
and the burner switch (light oil position). The burner is therefore
connected and it carries out preventilation phase. If the air
pressure control device detects that pressure is higher than
the regulated value, the starting transformer will be turned on,
followed by the first flame light oil valve, then the burner will
start.
4) With the first flame burner running, adjust, if necessary, combus-
tion air delivery. When regulation is over, stop the burner and
start it again for being sure that starting is correct. For getting a
mild starting, remember that you normally need to regulate air
to the bare minimum. If starting takes place mildly, disconnect
the burner and connect the second flame thermostat terminals
directly (bridge).
5) Set the combustion air regulator in the position you presumably
need for adding the second flame (see BT 8653/1).
6) Now connect the burner again, it will begin to run with first and
second flames. Act on the second flame air-regulating cam for
adjusting air delivery according to specific conditions.
7) The burner is equipped with a device which optimizes combus-
tion by decreasing or increasing the air flow between disk and
head. Normally, you need to decrease the air flow between disk
and head when the burner is running with limited fuel delivery,
this air way must be proportionally larger when the burner is
working with increased fuel delivery (0002922520). If the com-
bustion head is pushed forward (narrower way between disk
and head) you must avoid complete closure. While adjusting the
combustion head, you must center the head to the disk perfectly.
Remember that imperfect centering of the combustion head to
the disk may result in bad combustion and overheating of the
head with its subsequent rapid deterioration. Check centering
by looking through the inspection hole placed on the back part
of the burner, then, tighten firmly the two screws fastening the
combustion head in its position.
8) The maximum rate of smoke allowed is n° 2 of Bach-
arach scale with a carbon dioxide value (CO
from 10 to 13%.
