1. Important information

equipment in it.

out in this document. In addition, if the accessory part is not installed and handled properly as set out in these
installation instructions, no claims under the guarantee will be accepted by BMW AG.
Installation instructions
The accessory front apron should be installed by two people. The front apron replacement work should be
completed as set out in repair instructions No. 51 11 157 (To replace the front bumper trim).
Lever out the cover for the towing eye, pull the trim strip off the standard bumper and prepare it for painting.
Safety instructions
It is essential to ensure that any mechanical work or painting does not destroy the model plate or embossed
information in the front apron or render it illegible. The model plate is embossed legibly on the right-hand side on
the inside of the apron.
Painting instructions
The accessory front apron, the registration plate holder and the 24 mm covers are supplied ready-primed and
must undergo the appropriate pre-treatment.
In addition, the towing eye cover on the standard bumper must also be painted.

The front apron is made of PUR-GF 15% (rigid foam).
Paint it using BMW acrylic paint +30% softface additive
Maximum temperature for stoving 40°C.
Ensure that the masking panel over the ornamental grille in the accessory front apron is in position and
not damaged. If necessary, replace the masking panel. Cover the ornamental grille from the inside before
painting. Paint the front apron around the ornamental grille from the inside.
