- Affix strips of self-adhesive film (J) upon the places for fastening the rail on the vehicle roof
in such a way that the film may copy the stamping of the roof precisely -detail-.

- Set the drilling template (G) in such a way that its rear part may engage with the slot between

the vehicle roof and the opened door of the luggage compartment -detail-.
- Lengthways, lean the template upon the stamping of the roof -detail- (towards the outer
side of the vehicle roof). Check the proper setting of the template through the orifices
in it.

- With a suitable tool, mark the places for drilling the orifices for the roof rail –detail- accor-
ding to the marks on the template -arrows-. Lay aside the template at a suitable place.

- In the marked places, drill first orifices of the dia. 3 mm, then of the dia. 7 mm, and last, of
the final dia. 12 mm.
During drilling, pay attention to avoid deformations of the vehicle roof, or damage to
the threads in the plates for fastening the rail under the roof frame.

- Tear off the self-adhesive film. The drilled orifices ought to be above the threads of the
plates in the roof frame -detail-.
- 7 -
- Insert the pilot pin in the threaded orifice in the plate, and copy its shape with a coloured
marker. In the same way, mark an oval shape with all the drilled orifices.
- 8 -
- Grind the drilled orifices to an oval shape according to marking.
- 9, 10 -
- Clean the orifices as well as their neighbourhood with the cleaner HHA 381 011.
- Protect the drilled orifices from corrosion with the zinc spray. After the zinc has dried up,
apply upon the edges of orifices the red-brown anticorrosive base coating Priomat 3255
(from the firm Spies Hecker) or red-brown anticorrosive base coating Spray Max 1K Haftpri-
mer (from the firm Standox).

- Fit the roof rail into the prepared orifices.

- Fasten the front shoe of the rail with screws M6 x 28 (E). Fasten the central and rear shoes
with longer screws M6 x 35 (F). Use the screwdriver Torx.
