Release of a stuck log.
• Release both controls.
• Then move the log thrust back and stop it completely in its starting
position, and insert a wedge of
wood under the stuck trunk.
• Start the chipper so you can push the wooden wedge under the stuck
log.
• Repeat the procedure with a wedge of greater angle until the trunk is
released.
Do not try to hit the stuck log to free it. Hitting will cause damage to
the machine or can make the trunk jump and cause an accident.
Change the hydraulic oil.
Replace chipper hydraulic oil every 150 hours for AS6T
Follow the steps below to replace it:
• Make sure all moving parts are stopped, and unplugged.
• Unscrew the oil drain bolt with the dipstick to remove it.
• Turn the log mower over the side of the support leg over a
container of
4 liters for the AS6T to drain spent hydraulic oil.
•. Turn the chipper to the side of the engine.
• Refill the tank with new hydraulic oil according to the
capacity indicated in the specification table.
• Clean the surface of the dipstick on the oil drain screw and
put it back into the oil tank, keeping the chipper upright.
• Make sure the oil filling level is just 2 grooves around the
dipstick.
Clean excess oil before turning the chipper. Make sure the
screws are tight to prevent leakage before returning the
chipper to the horizontal position.
Periodically check the oil level, to make sure it is around the
2nd dipstick slot. With a lower level of oil, you have to refill
it.
Wedge sharpening.
After using the chipper for a while, you need to sharpen the chipper wedge using a fine-toothed
file and polish any burrs or broken areas along the wedge.
