Ergonomic Design of Workrooms

For detailed recommendations for ergonomic design of computer and video workstations, please refer
to the EU directive 90/270/EWG on safety and health protection when working with visual display
units.

PC and Peripheral Devices

Four spike-proof AC outlets/sockets or one quadruple connector strip are necessary for peripheral
devices (PC, printer, etc.).

Remote Diagnosis Modem

The external PC is equipped with a modem for remote hardware and software diagnosis by Bruker
AXS. For this purpose, a telephone jack (preferably an RJ-11 type) near the spectrometer is required
as well as two additional (preferably spike-protected) power connections for the PC and printer.
An RJ-11 telephone connection must be installed nearby (about 5 m or 16'). A cable (length about
5 m) equipped with two (2) RJ-11 plugs ("western plugs") is also required (one for voice connection
and one for modem connection). All of these components are required for remote diagnosis by Bruker
AXS Service.
