1. Remove the muffler cover.
2. Make sure that the muffler is not defective.
WARNING:
that has a defective muffler or a muffler
that is in bad condition. Return product
to a Husqvarna dealer/service station if
the muffler is defective.
3. Remove the spark arrester screen.
Note:
Do not remove the muffler from the product.
4. Clean the spark arrester screen with a steel brush.
Replace the spark arrester screen if it is damaged.
5. Install the spark arrester screen to the product.
Make sure that the spark arrester screen is correctly
attached.

does not work
To replace a broken or worn starter
rope
1. Loosen the screws to the starter housing.
2. Remove the starter housing.
3. Pull out the starter rope approximately 30 cm/12 in
and put it in the notch on the pulley.
4. Let the pulley rotate slowly rearward to release the
recoil spring.
5. Remove the bolt in the center of the pulley and
remove the pulley.
6. Hold the starter rope handle.
