On the step by step edition screen (Fig. 24) the parameters of each step may be
edited.
The lower left buttons are used to access the previous and subsequent step. The
lower right button is used to return to the recipe in PLC screen.
Depending on the selected process in each step, the system allows to set a few
parameters.

To set each one of the parameters, the corresponding box must be pressed. A
numeric keypad will appear on the screen (Fig. 25).
The fixed parameters are final values of the step, that is, the values that the system
tries to reach at the end of the step. The system follows a few rates taking as initial
values the readings of the probes when the step starts.
In the first vacuum step, the system doesn't follow rates. The equipment will try to
reach the vacuum value during the entire step.
9.4.
DEFROSTING MODE
The third button of the main screen is used to activate and deactivate the defrosting
mode. After realizing a freeze-drying cycle, it is possible to run a defrosting cycle in
order to defrost the ice accumulated in the condenser and to extract the water by the
drain (see Fig. 26). To perform the defrosting, heated gas flows by the condenser coil
to increase its temperature.
The end of the defrosting mode takes place automatically, when a predetermined
time has passed.
9.5.
MENU
The fourth button of the main screen is used to access the menu (Fig. 27). The menu
is used to program a recipe, to visualize an alarm (if an alarm is activated) and to
access the adjustable parameters.
On the menu screen there are two buttons in the middle. The first of them leads to
the recipes edition screen (see chapter 10). The second button leads to the alarm
screen (see chapter 11). There are also four buttons on the lower area, from left to
right:

Access the synoptic screen
•
Access to vacuum pump operating hours counter
•
Return to the main screen
On the settings screen (Fig. 28) the safety temperature may be modified. This screen
contains boxes to select the use of the manifold or the plates. The three lower
buttons, from left to right, are used to:

Access the language selection screen
•
Access the screen of screen adjustments
•
Return to the main screen
