Safety Information
and S9. Note that only tool and drive unit with
same designation S4 or S7 can be operated to-
gether!
All tools are protected from overheating the motor
by a device which cuts the power if the tempera-
ture rises abnormally. When the temperature goes
down again, the overheat protection device resets
automatically.
Electrical protection of the operator and tool is
based on two parallel, mutually independent sys-
tems. One is passive and earths the entire equip-
ment: The other is active and takes the form of an
earth fault circuit breaker EFP. The latter senses
small current leakage (>10mA) and should such
leakage occur, switches off the drive unit (<30ms).
Changing, interfering or tampering with the pro-
tective systems voids all warranty and obligation
from Atlas Copco.
Trouble-shooting and re-start of the system may
only be carried out by an authorized person pos-
sessing the key to the drive box containing the
EFP.
Control the function of the Earth fault protector on
a regular basis by pressing the trip-button. The
EFP should switch off according. Also check the
continuity of the ground loop from the tool body to
proper earth. This control is recommended to be
carried out at least once every month.
