Placing the machine
Caution!
Always stand the machine on
its feet or (indoors only) on its rear

The machine draws in air at the rear,
which is given off on both sides
through ventilating slots. Ensure an
unhindered airflow. The distance of
the machine to walls or other equip-
ment must be at least 20 cm.
4.3
Other connectors
Caution!
When connecting the welding
cables observe the required polarity
for the desired welding process and
the electrodes to be used.
Manual arc welding
Prior to initial start-up:
1.
Connect earth cable to - pole.
2.
Connect welding cable to + pole.
Gas-shielded arc welding
Prior to initial start-up:
1.
Connect reinforced pressure hose to
pressure regulator.
2.
Connect earth cable to + pole.
3.
Connect TIG torch welding current
cable to - pole.

5. Operation
All machine functions are controlled by
the two knobs of the control unit. With
them, you navigate in the control unit's
user interface. An overview of the user
interface's structure can be found at the
end of these instructions.
After switching ON and a subsequent
automatic check, the machine defaults
to the settings active when it was last
switched OFF. In the display the last
active operating mode is shown. You are
then at the top menu level and can
select a different operating mode.
5.1
Operating modes
At the top menu level, select the desired
welding process/operating mode combi-
nation with knob "Parameter adjust-
ment". The display shows:

Note:
In manual arc welding mode the
machine uses the hot-start and arc-force
functions.
Hot-start function
When contacting the weld metal with the
electrode, the set welding current is
increased for a short period to ensure
the arc will start.
Arc-force function
During the welding process the machine
keeps the energy (heat) brought into the
weld metal at a constant level, even if
the distance between electrode and
weld pool varies.
TIG 2 CYCLE
Operating mode for TIG welding in
2 cycle mode:
− Press the forward pushbutton (start/
stop pushbutton).
The welding process starts at the
preset start current.
After ignition the current slopes up
