SETTING THE PARKING BRAKE (Fig. 13)
The parking-brake pedal can be used to set the tractor in the
parking-brake position. To start the tractor, it should be released
from the parking-brake position.
To set the parking brake:
1. Stop the tractor on a level surface.
2. With the parking-brake lock lever pulled up, fully depress the
parking-brake pedal until the pedal stops rebounding.
3. Release the parking-brake pedal. Remove your foot from the
parking-brake pedal.
To release the parking brake, depress the parking-brake pedal
once again; the pedal will rebound to the released position and the
parking-brake lock lever will drop to released position.
WARNING: Never leave the tractor unattended during work breaks without verifying that the parking brake is set
and the safety key is removed. Failure to set the parking brake could cause the tractor to move. Leaving the safety key in
place may allow unauthorized use that could result in serious personal injury.
ATTACHING/DETACHING THE BATTERY PACK (Fig. 14)
Charge the battery pack(s) before first use!
NOTE: In order to start this tractor, EGO batteries totaling 15Ah
(2 x BA4200/BA4200T) or more are required. For best performance,
we recommend use of EGO batteries that total 30Ah or more.
When not in use, EGO 56V battery packs should be stored in an
enclosed area where the temperature will not drop below -4°F
(-20°C). Optimal charging temperatures are between 41°F (5°C)
and 104°F (40°C).
WARNING: If any parts are broken or missing, do not attempt
to attach the battery packs to the tractor or operate the tractor until
the broken or missing parts are replaced. Failure to do so could
result in serious injury.
1. Unlock the power-unit cover by grasping the power-unit cover release button and pressing it slightly inward.
2. Start lifting the power-unit cover until the spring bar engages and fully opens the power-unit cover. The EGO electric
lawn tractor is equipped with six battery compartments to accommodate up to six battery packs at the same time.
3. Align the grooves in the battery pack with the raised ribs in the battery compartment, and then insert the battery
pack into the compartment.
4. Push the battery pack until you hear a "click". The battery release button will spring up when the battery pack is
securely attached (Fig. 14a).
5. Attach more battery packs into the remaining battery compartments in the same way.
