Safety warnings
for hedge trimmers
• Safety is a combination of common sense, being on the alert and knowing how the tool operates.
CAUTION
• Read carefully the Manual before using the tool for the first time. Pay attention to safety rules, alert symbols
and danger, warning and attention notes throughout the Manual and labels attached to the tool.
• The tool is designed exclusively to trim hedges. Refrain from cutting other types of materials.
WARNING
Fuel handling
• Refrain from smoking in the vicinity of fuel; gasoline
supply area; or in the oil mix preparation site or when
using the tool.
• To reduce the risk of fire handle fuel with care. It is
extremely flammable.
• Avoid gasoline or oil making contact with your skin.
• To avoid gasoline and oil spatters into your eyes, wear
protective gear. In the event of an accident, immediately
rinse with clear water. If irritation persists, visit your doctor.
• Mix and store fuel in an approved container.
WARNING
• Mix fuel in open air away from
sparks or flames.
• Before filling up the tool turn off the motor. Set the tool
on clear ground and wait for the motor to cool off.
• Clean off the tool any spilled fuel
CAUTION
before using.
CAUTION
• Look for fuel leaks and correct before
using the tool. Fire and burns hazard.
• Keep the tool 30 ft. away from the fill up area before
starting the motor.
• Under no circumstance burn spilled fuel.
• By no means use any other type of fuel different to the
specified in this manual for this tool.
Before using the tool
DANGER
• Never use the tool when tired, ill or
under the effects or drugs, alcohol or medication.
• Wear adequate clothing to use the tool: tight clothes,
heavy-duty slacks, non-skid safety boots, protective work
gloves and safety lenses with side protection under ANSI
Z87.1. Standard.
WARNING
• Remove any accessory or loose
clothing that could get tangled into the moving blade
teeth. Hold up long hair at shoulder length.
• Double check the tool is in perfect working conditions.
Do not turn on if not properly adjusted and working safely.
See the fuel tank has no leaks or loose screws.
• Verify the blade stops moving when releasing the
throttle trigger. Otherwise, turn off the tool and see a
Authorized Service Center to repair.
• Double check the tool is clean, dry and free of oil or fuel.
• Verify the work area is open and well ventilated.
• Check the work area. Remove any stone, broken glass,
nails, wire or string. They could shoot out or get tangled
in the tool.
• Under extreme temperatures, see there is no ice or
condensation in the tool.
• Make sure visibility and lighting are suitable to clearly
see. Otherwise, do not use the tool.
When using the tool
• Before starting the motor see that the blade is not
making contact with any object.
WARNING
• Keep firm foothold into the ground.
Both hands should fasten the tool by the handles. Never
use the tool single-handed; otherwise the user or
passersby might get injured.
• When the motor is running, keep your body away from
the blades.
• Keep your body away from the muffler. Sever burns
may happen.
• Keep the tool away from flammable materials.
• Do not use the tool to cut dead brush, branches or
fabric.
• Never try to adjust the tool while the motor is running.
• Stay alert to the surrounding risks. The tool's noise could
stop you from noticing.
After using the tool
CAUTION
• Always carry the tool being turned off,
the muffler away from your body, the blade facing back
and with the sheath on. To transport in a vehicle drain the
fuel tank.
• Turn off the motor before idling.
WARNING
DO NOT leave the working motor unattended. Allow
cooling off before storing.
CAUTION
• Only highly trained personnel should
service and repair the tool.
