5. SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 Before First Use: Clean The Personal Accessory Set
Sanitizing is important for hygiene and serves to kill living organisms, such as bacteria or viruses.
WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY
Before first use, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider, prepare product for use as follows:
1. Disassemble all parts and place Breast Pump and AC Power Adapter and Cord off to the side.
2. SET ASIDE tubing adapter
apart from each other. The tubing adapter and tubing DO NOT need to be washed before first use
or typically after each use because milk does not come into direct contact with these parts. If
condensation does appear in the tubing, follow the directions below for cleaning the tubing.
3. Clean remaining pump kit parts as directed using breast pump cleaning instructions in Section
8 of this manual. See the Center for Disease Control website:

for additional cleaning guidelines.
NOTE: Inspect the tubing. If you find condensation in the air tube, wash and dry it
immediately or replace the tubing. If you see breast milk inside the tubing or tubing
connector do not attempt to wash, clean or sterilize the tubing or tubing connector. Instead
contact Hygeia Customer Service at 714.515.7571.
