INSTALLING THE SMARTPHONE ADAPTER
The smartphone adapter allows you to align your phone's camera with the telescope eyepiece to capture images and video of
what you see. You can also use this adapter with other optics, like spotting scopes and binoculars.
You can usually use the adapter with your phone still in its case. However, the back of the case must be fl at to fi t in the adapter
properly. Grips, stands, and rings on the back of your phone or case can interfere with your phone's placement. Folio-style cases
must be removed.

2. Open the eyepiece clamp (B) by
loosening the eyepiece clamp knob
(A).

5. Launch your phone's camera app.
Loosen the holder alignment knob (E).
* Some eyepieces have a section of the barrel that rotates, such as an eye relief adjuster. Make sure to clamp the adapter over a portion of the barrel that does not move.

3. Place the eyepiece clamp over the
eyepiece. Tighten the eyepiece clamp
knob until the clamp is secure against
the eyepiece.*

6. Adjust your phone's position until the
camera is aligned with the eyepiece.

1. Before attaching the adapter, look
through your optic (i.e., telescope,
spotting scope, binocular) and make
sure the view is in sharp focus.

4. Loosen the holder clamp knob (D) until
the holder clamp (C) is open wide
enough to accommodate the width of
your phone. Place the phone inside the
holder clamp and tighten the holder
clamp knob until the phone is secure.

7. When you can see the view through
the eyepiece on your phone screen,
tighten the holder alignment knob (E)
to keep your phone in position. Adjust
the focus if necessary.
