Installation and operation
CAUTION
Do not operate this pump
without personal protective
equipment. Pump can gen-
erate noise levels above
85 dBa that could result in hearing loss.
Failure to comply could result in
personal injury.
WARNING
Do not exceed lowest pressure rating of
any component in system.
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death.
WARNING
Do not operate pump with broken,
missing or defective parts. Replace
defective parts prior to operation.
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death.
WARNING
Do not operate with leakage in system.
Disconnect air to motor.
Failure to comply may results in
serious injury.
Bench test
NOTE
Perform the following procedures at a
pressure not to exceed 30 psi (2.1 bar).
1 Make sure air pressure is at zero.
2 Screw adapter (2) (with thread sealant)
into inlet of air motor.
3 Screw valve (3) (with thread sealant)
into adapter.
4 Screw adapter (4) into valve (with thread
sealant).
5 Tighten adapter securely.
6 Install air coupler (5) onto air supply line.
7 Connect air coupler to adapter.
8 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor.
9 Pump should cycle. If pump does not
cycle, bushing may require adjustment.
Refer to section Bushing adjustment.
NOTE
Pump may not cycle for additional
reasons. Refer to Troubleshooting,
page 13, for details.
11
Bushing adjustment *
10 Turn off air pressure.
11 Unscrew air motor until hole in air motor
aligns with one of holes in bushing as
required.
NOTE
Observe bushing. It will either remain
stationary or unscrew with air motor.
If bushing assembly remains
stationary *
12 Insert a rod through hole in air motor
and into hole of bushing.
13 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor, not to exceed 30 psi (2.1 bar). *
14 Adjust load on packing group until pump
begins to cycle.
15 Turn off air pressure.
16 Tighten air motor securely into body.
If bushing turns with air motor:
17 Unscrew air motor completely from body.
18 Separate bushing from adapter of air
motor.
19 Apply an additional coat of grease to
o-ring and bore of air motor that
contacts o-ring.
20 Screw bushing into body hand-tight.
21 Screw air motor into body until hole in air
motor's adapter aligns with one of holes
in bushing.
22 Follow steps 12 - 16 in section titled
Bushing adjustment. *
