Safety Information
The 3 steps allow completely independent settings of rpm.
Search step normally runs at low rpm to find the thread eas-
ily. Step 1 can be run at high rpm for high productivity and
short cycle time. At Step 2 rpm is reduced to avoid exceeded
torque.

Maintenance
Preventing ESD problems
The components inside the tool and controller are sensitive to
electrostatic discharge. To avoid future malfunction, make
sure that service and maintenance is carried out in an ESD
approved work environment. The figure below shows an ex-
ample of an appropriate service work station.
Maintenance
There are certain general maintenance procedures you should
perform to keep your MicroTorque system clean and operat-
ing at its efficiency.
The system is a sophisticated instrument with many sensitive
components.
A built-in service reminder can be configured in Tools Talk
MT. When it is time to perform service on the tool, a re-
minder is shown on the controller display.
Preventive Maintenance:
• The system should never be exposed to harsh environ-
ment with rapid temperature changes or excessive dust.
• Never expose the system to excessive vibration or high
humidity.
• Prevent overheating by use only in the permitted temper-
ature range. Do not cover tool or controller or power
supply.
• Cleaning of the tool and controller should be done regu-
larly, but not with aggressive cleanser.
• Check wear of the bit regularly.
• Replace worn cables immediately.
Tools which have been opened by anyone else than Atlas
Copco Industrial Technique AB, will not be serviced.
Calibration and preventive maintenance is recommended at
regular intervals once per year or after maximum 1.000.000
tightenings depending on which occurs sooner.
More frequent overhaul may be needed if the machine is
used in heavy-duty operations.
If the machine is not working properly, it should immedi-
ately be taken away for inspection.
Remarque
De nombreux évènements dans l'environnement d'exploita-
tion peuvent affecter le processus de serrage et nécessiteront
une validation des résultats. Conformément aux normes et rè-
glements applicables, nous vous invitons par la présente à
