1.1 Caution – Important safety instructions
For reasons of personal safety, it is important to follow all the instructions, as incorrect installation can lead to serious injuries. The control box must be
installed and adjusted by a professional motorisation and building automation installer, in compliance with the regulations of the country in which it
is going to be used. The installation and user manual must be given to the end user, explicitly stating that installation, adjustment and maintenance
of the motorisation must be performed by a professional motorization and building automation installer.
1.2 Introduction
This control panel is used to operate single-phase BFT motors fitted on roller shutter doors in a commercial or industrial environment. The control box
is provided with 1 button (open/close/stop). The installer, a professional in motorization and building automation, must ensure that the installation of
the motorized product, once installed, complies with the standards in effect in the country of commissioning such as EN12453. The instructions stated
in the product's installation booklet are intended to meet the security requirements for goods, people and the aforesaid standards.
1.3 Safety instructions relating to installation
WARNING! An incorrect installation or improper use of the product can cause damages to people, animal or things.
• Scrap packing materials (plastic, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) according to the provisions set out by current standards. Keep nylon or polystyrene
bags out of children's reach.
• Keep the instructions together with the technical brochure for future reference.
• This product was exclusively designed and manufactured for the use specified in the present documentation. Any other use not specified in the
documentation would damage the product and be dangerous.
• BFT declines all responsibility for any consequences resulting from improper use of the product, or use which is different from that expected and
specified in the present documentation.
• Do not install the product in explosive atmosphere.
• The installation must comply with the provisions set out by the country in which it is going to be used.
• Disconnect the electrical power supply before carrying out any work on the installation. Also disconnect any buffer batterie, if fitted.
• The actuating member of a biased-off switch is to be located within direct sight of the driven part but away from moving parts. It is to be installed
at a minimum height of 1.5m and not accessible to the public.
• Fit an omnipolar or magneto-thermal switch on the main power supply, having a contact opening distance equal to or greater than 3mm.
• Make sure that there is no crushing between the driven part ad the surrounding fixed pars due to the opening movement of the driven part.
• Check that a differential switch with a 0.03A is fitted just before the power supply mains.
• Check that earthing is carried out correctly : connect all metal parts for closure (doors, etc.) and all system components provided with an earth
terminal.
• BFT declines all responsibility with respect to the automation safety and correct operation when other manufacturer's components are used.
• Only use original parts for any maintenance or repair operation.
• Do not modify the automation components, unless explicitly authorized by BFT.
• Instruct the product user about the control systems provided and the manual opening operation in case of emergency.
• Do not allow people or children to stay in the automation operation area.
• The user must avoid any attempt to carry out work or repair on the automation system, and always request the assistance of qualified people.
• Anything which is not expressly provided for in the present instructions is not allowed.
1.4 Safety instructions relating to use and maintenance
WARNING : Important safety instructions. It is important for the safety of people to follow these instructions. Save these instructions.
WARNING : The drive has to be disconnected from its power source during cleaning, maintenance and when replacing parts.
• This system can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experi-
ence and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children, without supervision.
• Do not allow children to play with fixed controls.
• Frequently examine the installation for imbalance and signs of wear or damage to cables and springs. Do not use if repair or adjustment is necessary.
• Watch the motorised installation while it is moving and keep people away until the motorised installation is fully extended.
• For drives fitted with a manual release, operating conditions are given in the drive instructions.
1.5 Risk prevention
The downward movement of the curtain must be done in maintained pressure control mode.
The upward movement can be carried out in impulse mode if there are no crushing or shearing points, lifting or driving parts as defined in standard
EN12453 (e.g. : grid with protruding and likely to lift a person...).
1.6 Trash and recycling
We care about our environment. Do not dispose of the appliance with usual household waste. Give it to an approved collection point for
recycling.
Please separate storage cells and batteries from other types of waste and recycle them via the local collection facility
Anything that is not explicitly provided for in the user guide is not allowed. The operator's proper operation can only be guaranteed
if the instructions given herein are complied with. The Firm shall not be answerable for damage caused by failure to comply with the
instructions featured herein.
While we will not alter the product's essential features, the Firm reserves the right, at any time, to make those changes deemed opportune
to improve the product from a technical, design or commercial point of view, and will not be required to update this publication accordingly.
