mach and back muscle regions. This helps to stabilise the spine and pelvic floor,
while also training coordination and balance.
5. Functionality
The seat cushion's operating principle is that of "active sitting". The cushion is
filled with air and when you sit on it, it creates minor instability in the pelvis. The
pelvic floor muscles counteract this instability and are thereby permanently in
use and stimulated while sitting. This constant movement trains the pelvic floor
muscles.
The ELANEE seat cushion for pelvic floor training is the perfect addition to pelvic
floor exercises or training with pelvic floor training aids (e.g. ELANEE phase I or
phase II active pelvic floor training aids).
6. Usage
1. Check that the cushion is in good condition.
2. If there is not enough air in the cushion, pump it up using
the enclosed hand pump. To do so, screw on the pin of
the pump and insert this into the valve on the cushion.
Please take care not to damage the sitting cushion with
the pin! Pump air into the cushion until it is full enough.
To remove air from the cushion, simply insert the pin into the valve without the
pump and press gently on the cushion until enough air has been removed.
3. Place the cushion on a firm, flat sitting surface with the knobbly side facing
downwards. Unpadded surfaces are particularly suitable.
4. Sit on the cushion.
5. Stay sitting on the cushion for as long as it feels comfortable and/or conduct 10
minutes of exercises every day.
Tip: You can find exercise ideas for effective pelvic floor training using the sitting
cushion in the exercise programme (in DE, EN, FR) which can be found in this
booklet.
7. Safety information
Only use the seat cushion on solid and level seating!
Avoid contact with sharp or pointed objects in order to prevent damaging
the cushion!
