When operating the machine, plan pauses and avoid
operating it for long periods of time. Permanent vibrations
are harmful to health.
The control and safety devices installed in the hedge
trimmer cannot be removed or inhibited.
The following precautions and procedures should also be
followed to avoid accidents:
▪ When operating the hedge trimmer, adopt a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the
machine firmly to ensure continuous operation and
withstand unexpected situations, such as kickback.
The kickback is a sudden reaction that happens when the
power tool is switched on and the blade gets jammed. The
blade kickback forces the power tool to rotate in the
opposite direction to the rotation of the blade.
The kickback occurs due to an incorrect use of the power
tool or due to an improper working procedure which can
cause serious injuries to the user. Loss of control can result
in serious injury. To avoid the kickback, the following
precautions must be considered:
- Fit the blade in the correct position and keep it securely
locked in place;
- Do not position your body in the area where power tool will
move if kickback occurs;
When the blade gets jammed, switch off the power tool
immediately.
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not clogged. Do
not place any objects over the slots;
▪ The blade and the hedge trimmer can become very hot
during operation. Avoid touching them, they can cause
burns. Use protective gloves when handling the blade.
Before performing cleaning, adjusting, repairing and
maintenance tasks, always unplug the power cord.
Replace worn out or damaged parts immediately, so that
the power tool is always in a safe operating condition.
Cleaning:
Always keep the power tool clean and dry, free from oil,
grease and lubricants. Clean all tool components and
accessories after each use.
Do not use aggressive cleaning products. These products
may damage plastics and metals, compromising the safe
operation of the power tool.
Maintenance:
Only maintenance works described in this instruction
manual may be carried out, all other works must be
performed by an official dealer.
Keep all nuts and bolts tight so the power tool is in safe
working condition.
If components or safety devices are removed for
maintenance work, they must be repositioned correctly
immediately.
Use only VITO-approved tools and accessories for this
machine or technically identical parts. Failure to do so may
result in personal injuries or damages to the hedge
trimmer. If in doubt, if you lack knowledge or resources, you
should contact an official dealer.
Your power tool should only be serviced by the
manufacturer's internal service personnel, or other
qualified personnel, replacing any necessary parts with
original parts.
