SAFETY INFORMATION
.. 4
These instructions contain the following items, the meaning of which is as follows:
.. 4
.. 5
WARNING: alert word used to indicate a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious harm.
.. 9
GENERAL SECURITY INFORMATIONS
10
• The use of a bicycle on public roads may be subject to national regulations, please refer to them before using it (bell, lighting, reflectors, wearing
a helmet and signage for example).
10
• For your safety, we recommend you wear a bicycle helmet as well as additional protection and/or visual items (e.g. retro-reflective vest). In case
of rain, fog or at night, visibility may be reduced, so remember to adapt your speed accordingly.
13
CHARGER
15
• Use only the charger supplied with your bike. Do not use the charger on a battery other than the one supplied with the bike. Do not leave your
charger plugged in empty. WARNING! Risk of fire and electric shock.
16
• Do not charge your battery near flammable materials. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children without supervision.
17
Examine the battery charger regularly, especially the cable, plug and casing, for damage. If the battery charger is damaged, it should not be
used until repaired. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced with a suitable cord available from the manufacturer or its after-sales
service. Only charge the battery indoor. Do not immerse the charger or clean it with high pressure water. Do not charge your bike near a water
17
source. Do not expose to moisture. Not to be used in the rain or left outdoors whilst raining. The charger is designed to charge the Lithium-
ion battery supplied with the bike. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries with the charger. WARNING! Risk of fire and electric shock.
17
18
BATTERY
• In the event of fire, evacuate people from the fire area. If you inhale or ingest battery gas, leave the area immediately and seek medical
assistance. In case of contact with skin and/or eyes, rinse thoroughly, remove solid particles and contaminated clothing. Seek medical
assistance. If the battery leaks, put on gloves and place the battery in a plastic bag. Return the battery to your Decathlon store immediately.
Chemicals can irritate your skin and stain your belongings. This can be avoided by taking certain precautions. If you do not wear gloves, you
should wash your hands after disposing of the battery.
• It is essential to store the charged battery in a cool (between +10°C and +25°C), dry place, out of direct sunlight to avoid malfunction. Use the
charger indoors only.
• WARNING! Do not disassemble, open or cut the battery, as this could cause a fire or electric shock. Keep the battery dry and clean. Do not put
the battery in contact with solvent products (example: alcohol, oil) or chemicals (example: detergent) which may damage it. Do not expose it to
fire or excessive heat. Never short-circuit the battery by connecting the positive and negative terminals. This item should be handled with care
and is sensitive to shock. Never allow children to play with or handle the battery. Do not use the battery if the compliance indicator is broken. If
so, bring your battery in for recycling. In case of battery leakage: put on gloves and place the battery in a plastic bag. Return your battery to a
Decathlon store immediately. WARNING! Risk of fire, electric shock, electrocution, explosion.
BRAKES
For your safety and safe use of your bike, we recommend you regularly check the brakes (cables, sheathing, lever, calliper).
WARNING: in the event of rain or wet roads, the grip is less, and braking distances are longer. Adapt your speed and anticipate braking. Under certain
conditions, for example, during prolonged braking, the brake discs and calipers can reach high temperatures. Leave them to cool down for a few minutes
before handling them (e.g., to remove a wheel). WARNING! risk of burns.
ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
• Electrical components (battery, motor, screen, controller, charger) may be hot after using the bike. Caution, in extreme situations of use (for
example: riding at low speed on a significant incline or riding with a large load), the motor can reach high temperatures which could cause a
risk of burns. WARNING! risk of burns.
• To prevent abnormal use of the bicycle (by an untrained user, safety notices not read, system malfunction) when it's left unattended, it's
advisable to prevent the system from being started by removing the battery and/or screen.
• For safety reasons, do not modify the electrical system (components and software) and transmission of your bicycle. Likewise, it's not a good
idea to add components or other processes that would increase the performance of your electric bike. Those modifications may endanger
you, the lives of others and damage your bike. Riding a modified bicycle can have serious legal consequences in the event of a road accident.
• No maintenance should be carried out by yourself on the electrical components. Do not open the motor, battery, screen or any other electrical
components.
COMPOSITE COMPONENTS
• For composite material components, impact damage may be invisible to the user and cause injury. In the event of shock or impact, visit our
Decathlon workshops for component inspection and possible replacement. Never leave composite components such as carbon components
(e.g.: wheels, frame, forks, etc.) in a hot, confined place (e.g.: locked car in direct sunlight). This can cause irreversible damage.
This pictogram indicates a risk of burns.
