BEFORE EACH USE
Before using your bike, check the condition of parts that can wear, including the rims, brakes, tyres, steering and transmission of your bike. In the event of abnormal wear or
any deformation, have your bike checked by a Decathlon workshop.
TRANSMISSION:
A chain that is not tight enough can come off and cause falls, while a chain that is too tight impedes the performance of the bike. The bike chain is automatically tensioned
since the latter is equipped with a chain tensioner.
HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES:
Safety and adjustment of the brakes:
For your safety, check the front and rear brakes before each use of your bike. They must be in perfect condition. Check all brake mounting components regularly. Disc brakes
should be checked regularly. In the event of a brake fluid leak, action is required. Get in touch with a Decathlon workshop.
Setting up the brakes:
When your bike leaves the shop with its shiny new brake pads and discs, their braking power is weak. A sharp prolonged braking action (for example, during a descent) with
brakes that have never before been used can cause the pads to overheat and to «glaze over».
To ensure that your brakes perform, we recommend that you bed them in. This takes about 10 gentle braking actions per brake. For each braking action, apply a single brake
to slow the bike down from about 25 km/h to 5 km/h without fully blocking the wheel. Repeat with the other brake.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:
When using it for the first time, remember to plug in your battery to wake it up and recharge it. Make sure your electrical system is functioning properly. In order to benefit
from the electric assistance, before setting off to ride, make sure that all the connectors of the bike are properly connected and that your battery is charged. Turn on the bike
by pressing the ON/OFF button, then select the required assistance mode. Do not use or store the bike with the charging port cover open. Open the charging port only for
charging.
TYRE PRESSURE :
ds of
Regularly check the tyres and check the pressure. The pressure is shown on the side of the tyre and/or rim. If the pressure is indicated on both the rim and the tyre, inflate
the tyres with the maximum pressure indicated on the rim independently of the maximum pressure indicated on the tyre. The rims may have a different and lower maximum
pressure than the tyres. The bike will perform best with tyres inflated to between 2 and 5 bar. The risk of puncture is high if the tyres are underinflated. Battery life will also be
affected.
GENERAL OPERATION
BRAKE OPERATION:
The front brake is controlled by the left brake lever (or by the right brake lever in certain countries such as India, China, United Kingdom, etc.). The rear brake is controlled
using the right-hand lever (or left in the countries listed above). Before using the bicycle, check which levers operate the front and rear brake. The brake lever must not come
into contact with the handlebar. If it does, adjustment is required.
TRANSMISSION :
For optimal use of the gears, it is recommended to change them outside of sequences of significant pedaling effort.
