Maintenance and repair
WARNING
Do not use halogenated hydrocarbon
solvents such as methylene chloride or
1, 1, 1-trichloroethane in this pump.
An explosion can result with aluminium
and/or zinc-plated parts in pump come
in contact with halogenated
hydrocarbon solvents.
Failure to comply may lead to death or
serious personal injury.
WARNING
Do not perform overhaul procedure
prior to releasing all pressure within
system:
• Disconnect air supply line from pump
motor.
• Into an appropriate container, operate
control valve to discharge remaining
pressure within system.
Failure to comply may lead to
personal injury.
WARNING
Do not point a control valve at any
portion of body or another person.
Accidental discharge of pressure and/or
material can occur.
Failure to comply may lead to death or
serious personal injury.
Overhaul
NOTE
Refer to Fig. 3, page 9,
Fig. 4, page 11, Fig. 5, page 12
and Fig. IPB 1, page 15 for
component identification on all overhaul
procedures.
Disassembly
Separate pump tube from
air motor
1 Secure pump in a soft-jaw vise.
2 Unscrew tube adapter (5) from air motor (3).
3 Pull tube to expose coupling.
NOTE
Support coupling (7) and air motor
piston rod during roll pin removal.
Damage to components may occur.
4 Remove roll pin (8) that secures coupling (7)
to air motor piston rod.
5 Unscrew coupling from piston rod.
6 Remove pump tube from air motor.

7 Grasp coupling and pull piston from tube.
NOTE
Support coupling (7), rod (10), and
piston (13) during roll pin removal.
Damage to components can occur.
8 Remove roll pin (9) that secures coupling (7)
to rod (10). Use a punch and a small
hammer.
9 Remove roll pin (12) that secures piston (13)
to rod. Use a punch and a small hammer.
10 Unscrew rod from coupling and piston.
11 Remove ball (11) from piston.
