If the instrument is still soiled after disinfection, the
cleaning process must be repeated. The instrument
must be completely free from residues and dry prior
to any further conditioning.
ATTENTION
The ultrasonic handpiece, instrument tips and torque
wrench must not be mechanically cleaned or disinfected!
Never immerse in disinfectants! Only the instrument tips
may be cleaned in the ultrasonic bath!
Keep instrument tips in the drill bath prior to sterilization.
Sterilizing
Prior to sterilizing: Unscrew instrument tip, screw-on
cap with sealing ring (33) and signal ring (31) and blow
the remaining water out of the handpiece and tip.
Clean and disinfect everything.
Tips, the torque wrench and the handpiece may be sep-
arately sterilized only in autoclaves with saturated wa-
ter vapor at 134 °C (273.2 °F), 3 min. holding time
(2.04 bar; 29.59 psi overpressure).
ATTENTION
Do not exceed 140 °C (284 °F) during the drying phase.
Do not end the drying phase before it is completed.
Steam sterilizers are approved for sterilization that fulfill
the requirements of EN 13060, class B or S, and are suit-
able for the sterilization of ultrasonic handpieces and
tips, e.g. DAC PROFESSIONAL.
Instruments that are intended for invasive procedures
must be sterilized in a packaging which is suitable for
sterilization and storage, e.g. a paper/plastic composite
packaging.
After sterilizing
the instruments for "sterilization without drying" remove
them from the autoclave immediately.
ATTENTION
Do not immerse the handpieces in cold water to speed
up the cooling process.
This would permanently damage your handpiece!
All instruments must be stored so that they are protected
from contamination.
NOTE: Sterilize again once the storage period has
elapsed.
