II.8
NATURE AND FREQUENCY OF THE
PROGRAMMED CHECKS
DANGER!
Maintenance operations, even if for inspection
purposes only, must be carried out by skilled
technicians, qualified for working on air
conditioning and refrigerant products.
DANGER!
Always use the switch to isolate the unit from the
mains before carrying out any maintenance work
on the unit, even if it is for inspection purposes
only. Make sure that no one accidentally supplies
power to the machine – lock the master switch in
the zero position.
In order to guarantee that the unit runs regularly and efficiently, it is
necessary to schedule an overall inspection at regular intervals to
prevent malfunctions which could damage the main machine
components.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAINTENANCE

DANGER!
Maintenance operations, even if for inspection
purposes only, must be carried out by skilled
technicians, qualified for working on air
conditioning and refrigerant products. Use suitable
personal protection (gloves, eye protection etc).
DANGER!
Always use the switch to isolate the unit from the
mains before carrying out any maintenance work on
the unit, even if it is for inspection purposes only.
Make sure that no one accidentally supplies power
to the machine – lock the master switch in the zero
position.
DANGER!
In the case of cooling or fan circuit component
breakage or a drop in the coolant gas load, the
upper part of the compressor casing and the
discharge line may reach temperatures as high as
180°C for brief periods of time.
II.9.1
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

SAFEGUARD THE ENVIRONMENT!

If the system has an antifreeze additive, it must not
be drained freely, because it causes pollution. It
should be collected for possible recycling. The
filling valve must not be opened in the presence of
glycol water.
II.9.1.1
Inspection of the complete unit
Cleaning the unit and checking the general state of the machine. Any
points of corrosion will be appropriately touched-up with protective
paints.

II.9.1.2
Inspection of the electric circuit
Check the earth connection: with the unit off and disconnected
from the power supply, check the state of the earth.
Checking and inspecting electric contacts: with unit off and
disconnected from the power supply, check the state and tightness of
the wiring to the terminals.
Checking absorption: using a clip-on ammeter, evaluate the
absorption value and compare it with the plate data given in the
technical data table.
II.9.1.3
Inspecting the refrigerant circuit
Checking refrigerant fluid load: With the unit off, fit a pressure
gauge on the test point on the outlet side and another on the test point
on the inlet side. Start up the unit and check both pressure readings
once they have stabilised.
Check that there are no refrigerant fluid leaks: with unit off and
appropriate leak detector, check the cooling circuit paying attention to
the connection points and in proximity of the load connections.
Inspection of the compressors: every 3000 functioning hours of
the compressor, the circuit board shows an alarm without interruption of
unit functioning. It is a warning that the compressor must be inspected.
The inspection to be performed envisions the machine off and a visual
check of the states of the connections, with wiring and the status of the
rubber anti-vibration mounts. With unit on, check whether the
compressors vibrate or make anomalous noise, such to request
extraordinary maintenance.
