II.9.2.6
Checking and resetting the compressor oil
load
With the unit at a standstill, the oil level in the compressors must
partially cover the glass-inspection window positioned on the
equalisation pipe. The level is not always constant because it depends
on the temperature of the environment and the fraction of refrigerant in
solution in the oil. With the unit functioning and the conditions in
proximity of nominal, the oil level must be well-visible on the glass
inspection window positioned on the equalisation pipe and it must also
be still without turbulence. Any integration of oil can be performed after
having applied a vacuum to the compressors, using the pressure point
situated on the intake. For the quantity and type of oil, refer to the
adhesive sticker on the compressor or contact the HITECSA after-
sales centre.
II.9.2.7
Compressor functioning
The Scroll compressors have internal circuit breaker protection.
After any intervention of the internal circuit breaker protection, normal
functioning is reset automatically when the temperature of the windings
drops below the safety value envisioned (variable stand-by time from a
few minutes to a few hours).
II.9.2.8
Functioning of the work, anti-freeze and
pressure probes
The temperature probes (ST1, ST2, ST3 and ST4) are inserted inside a
well in contact with the conductive paste and blocked outside with
silicone.
II.9.2.9
VTE/VTI functioning: thermostatic valve
The thermostatic expansion valve is calibrated to maintain overheating
of the gas by at least 6°C, to prevent the compressor from taking in
liquid. If the overheating set must be varied, act on the valve as follows:
turn anti-clockwise to decrease overheating;
turn clockwise to increase overheating;
Proceed by removing the screw cap positioned at the side of the same
and successively act with a relative regulation tool. Increasing or
decreasing the amount of refrigerant decreases or increases the value
of the overheating temperature, keeping the temperature and pressure
inside the evaporator more or less constant, independently from the
variations of the heat load.
After every regulation made on the valve, allow a few minutes to pass
for the system to stabilise itself.
II.9.2.10 PA functioning: high pressure switch
After its intervention, the pressure switch must be rearmed manually by
pressing the button positioned on it fully home and resetting the alarm
from the control panel. Refer to the troubleshooting table to identify the
cause of the intervention and carry out the necessary maintenance.
II.9.2.11 PB functioning: low pressure switch
After its intervention the alarm must be set from the control panel; the
pressure switch is rearmed automatically only when the intake pressure
reaches a value higher than the calibration set differential. Refer to the
troubleshooting table to identify the cause of the intervention and carry
out the necessary maintenance.
SECTION II: INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
II.10 INDICATIONS FOR DISMANTLING THE UNIT
AND DISPOSAL OF DANGEROUS
SUBSTANCES
SAFEGUARD THE ENVIRONMENT!
HITECSA cares about protecting the environment.
When the unit is dismantled it is important to
adhere scrupulously to the following procedures.
The unit should only be dismantled by a firm authorized for the disposal
of scrap machinery/products.
The unit as a whole is composed of materials considered as secondary
raw materials and the following conditions must be observed:
the compressor oil must be removed, recovered and delivered to a
body authorized to collect waste oil;
if the appliance contains antifreeze, this should not just be disposed
of freely, as it causes pollution. It should be collected for possible
recycling.
refrigerant fluid should not be discharged into the atmosphere. It
should instead be recovered by means of homologated devices, stored
in suitable cylinders and delivered to a company authorised for the
collection;
the filter-drier and electronic components (electrolytic condensers)
are considered special waste, and must be delivered to a body
authorized to collect such items;
the foamed polyurethane rubber and foamed polyethylene mesh
pipe insulation, the foamed polyurethane (which surrounds the storage
tank), the stretch-wrap, the polystyrene packaging and the sound-
absorbent sponge lining on the bodywork must be removed and
processed as urban refuse.
