To remove battery pack (Fig. 10b)
WARNING:

1. Hold the battery pack in the palm of
your hand.
2. Press the battery-release button with your thumb; the battery pack will disengage
from the latch.
3. Grasp the battery pack and remove it from the power head.

and keep hands clear of the lock-off button and trigger switch when carrying or
transporting the machine.
STARTING/STOPPING THE
MACHINE (Fig. 11)
WARNING:
POWER HEAD WITHOUT AN ATTACHMENT.
Do not attempt to start the power
head before connecting the pole saw
attachment.
To start the pole saw
1. Install the battery pack.
2. Make sure that no objects or obstructions that could come in contact with the bar
and chain are in the immediate proximity.
3. Grasp the front-assist handle and the rear handle firmly, using both hands.
4. Press and hold the lock-off button, then squeeze the trigger switch to start the saw.
Release the lock-off button and continue to squeeze the trigger switch for continued
operation.
