For tensioning the Intermediate Drive belt,
with the fixed idler pulley use the following
procedure.
2.1
Slacken off the screws securing the Idler
Mount to the side plate. Move Idler into
position to tension the Belt correctly.
Tighten Securing Screws.
To ensure the belt tension is correct, use
a small amount force and twist the
intermediate belt through 90 degrees, this
then indicates the belt tension is set to
between 55-65Hz. If setting the belt
tension using a tension tester the
deflection is to be 3.5mm for a force of
32N along the main span. Re-adjust idler
pulley as per step 10.10.2.1 if required.
2.2
On starting of the Machine, if the
Intermediate belt "runs" towards the inside,
the idler adjusting screw, can be screwed
in, to favour the belt to the flange side of
the pulley. Secure locknut in the adjusted
position.
