    6 CONTROLS OPERATOR PRESENCE CONTROL - MECHANICAL (OPC) _____________ By depressing button [B], Lever [A] can be operated thereby engaging forward drive and cylinder rotation (Cylinder will only rotate if Cylinder clutch is engaged see 6.4). When handle [A] is released, button [B] will spring back into position, blocking the operation of Lever [A].

    CONTROLS BRAKE RELEASE LEVER ________________________________________ The landroll brake is applied when the hand lever [F] is moved to its upper position. To fully release the landroll brake move the hand lever downwards and pull the machine backwards. WARNING FOR THE SUPER CERTES ONLY: This Machine Should Not Be Parked On A Slope Without The Transport Wheels Fitted.

    7 OPERATION DAILY INSPECTION ______________________________________________ CAUTION The Daily Inspection Should Be Performed Only When The Engine Is Off And All Fluids Are Cold. Lower Implements To The Ground, Engage Parking Brake, Stop Engine And Remove Ignition Key. Perform a visual inspection of the entire unit, look for signs of wear, loose hardware and missing or damaged components.

    OPERATION OPERATOR PRESENCE AND SAFETY INTERLOCK SYSTEM ___________ The operator presence system controls the primary drive clutch. The engine can be started but drive cannot be engaged until the operator presence system has been engaged (see 6.1). When the primary drive is engaged the machine will move forward, the cylinder will only rotate if the cylinder clutch is engaged (see 6.4).

    7 OPERATION OPERATING PROCEDURE ________________________________________ CAUTION To Help Prevent Injury, Always Wear Safety Glasses, Leather Work Shoes Or Boots, A Hard Hat And Ear Protection. Under no circumstances should the engine be started with the operator presence system engaged. Do not operate the machine or attachments with loose, damaged or missing components. Whenever possible mow when grass is dry.

    OPERATION WARNING DO NOT USE ON SLOPES GREATER THAN 15° Slow down and use extra care on hillsides. Read Section 3.7. Use caution when operating near drop off points. Never use your hands to clean cutting units. Use a brush to remove grass clippings from blades. Blades are extremely sharp and can cause serious injuries.
  • Página 37 7 OPERATION TO OPERATE EFFICIENTLY Keep the machine clean, to avoid grass clippings dropping on to the turf. Ensure that the concave is set correctly to deliver grass clippings into the grass box. Clear any build up of grass on the front roll etc. when emptying the grass box. Keep the space between the rear roll, top deck and concave clean.

    ADJUSTMENTS 51 MARQUIS: HEIGHT OF CUT ADJUSTMENT________________________ The cutting height is determined by the postion of the front rolls in relation to the bottom blade, variation of this height is made by adjusting the front roll. a range of cut between 6mm and 27mm can be achieved with the adjustments explained below.

    8 ADJUSTMENTS MARQUIS: ALIGNING THE FRONT ROLLS ___________________________ Should the front rolls become out of true with the bottom blade, adjust accordingly: Slacken the nut on the front roll carriage, left hand side for the 61cm (24in) machine, right hand side for the 51cm (20in) machine.

    ADJUSTMENTS CYLINDER TO BOTTOM BLADE ADJUSTMENT _______________________ To check that the cutting cylinder is set correctly to the bottom blade: tilt the machine back, hold a thin piece of paper between the edge of the blade and spiral cutters and turn the cylinder manually. The paper should be cut cleanly along the length of the bottom blade, if not some adjustment is necessary BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - the cylinder must be...

    8 ADJUSTMENTS CONCAVE ADJUSTMENT ________________________________________ If the grass clippings do not enter the grass box satisfactorily, the concave needs adjusting. Ensure that the concave aligns correctly with the edge of the bottom block. Slacken the screws [C] which secure the concave to the top deck.

    ADJUSTMENTS LANDROLL CLUTCH ADJUSTMENTS ______________________________ Slacken locknuts [A] and rotate the adjuster so that the lever [B] just touches the pin [C]. Back-off the adjuster (or locknut) one complete turn so that the lever is not touching the pin. Tighten the locknuts to lock the adjustment in this position.

    8 ADJUSTMENTS 8.11 BACKLAPPING_________________________________________________ This mower has with the ability to backlap the reel without removing it from the machine. • Backlapping is a process which will lightly grind the reel to the bedknife whilst mounted on the mower. • If significant amounts of metal are to be removed then the cutting unit should be reground in a specialised grinding machine.

    ACCESSORIES BRUSH AND COMB SET _________________________________________ According to conditions a brush or comb can be fitted. It is not advisable to use the brush in wet conditions. To fit either of these units: Remove bolt [A] on both sides of the front roll. Replace the bolt together with the bracket [B] in between it and the side plate, replace the outside locknut and tighten securely.
