4 Commissioning Read all instructions first before using the HasciSE! Do not drink any alcohol or take any drugs while using the HasciSE and follow the saftey instructions carefully! Before use, the backhand scanner incl. battery, docking station, power supply, and any connection cables should be checked for damage.
Página 8
Only ACD original power supplies and rechargeable batteries approved by ACD may be used for the operation of the backhand scanner and docking station! The use of components that have not been approved can cause the destruction of the backhand scanner ATTENTION or docking station.

5.2 Inserting the HasciSE into the DSHasciSE Figure 3: Inserting the HasciSE into the DSHasciSE Place the docking station correctly on a smooth and clean underground, which is not exposed to direct sunlight. ATTENTION When the backhand scanner is inserted into the docking station, the scanner can be triggered.

5.4 Switching off the HasciSE To switch off the backhand scanner please use the following button: "Scanner button" (hold for approx. four seconds) The status LED goes out as soon as the back hand scanner is switched off. Figure 5: Switching off the HasciSE 5.5 Suspend mode To extend its runtime, the HasciSE features a power saving mode (Suspend) as a standard feature.

Status LED lights up red once, the vibration motor vibrates and the loudspeaker sounds briefly: A barcode could not be successfully transferred (reason: no Bluetooth connection or internal processing error). The data that was read in is discarded. Status LED lights up purple once: A configuration barcode was read successfully.

5.9 BT-compatible short-range radio A BT-compatible short-range radio in accordance with BT standard V4.0 is integrated into the backhand scanner to transfer scan data as keyboard data with the aid of an HID service. The backhand scanner is able to run in two different modes that can be set using a configuration barcode (for further information about configuration barcodes see section 0).

6.3 Setting the mechanism for data transmission For the transmission of data from a scanned barcode, HasciSE uses a HID service, which transmits the scan barcodes to the counterpart device by means of a keyboard input. This allows barcode characters to be entered directly into text fields without the need for an application on the remote device.
Página 16
7 Configuration The behavior of the backhand scanner can be adjusted by means of certain barcodes called configuration barcodes. The system parameters to be set can all be adjusted at once using a single barcode. The following system parameters can be changed. System Description: Default:...
Página 17
7.1 Individual Configurations The structure of the configuration barcode is shown below so that each system variable can be set individually in a barcode. Configuration codes themselves must have a length of exactly 53 ASCII characters and the following sequence of brackets at the beginning: )]{ If a system variable should not set, this is indicated by the character string FE in the barcode.

1) A conversion from the suspend time in seconds to the system variable is required here using the following formula (for the operation, round up a number with one decimal place to the next higher natural number): INPUT PARAMETER = ROUND UP( (SUSPEND TIME-1) / 15 ) The input parameter must be inserted in hexadecimal.
