(7) For workpieces less than ½" thick, lower
the hinge upright until the top of the slot
rests on the upper hinge-plate peg.
(8) Tighten the star-knob. Repeat at the
other end.
VERSA-STOPS
Use the short Versa-Stops under the guide
track for positioning workpieces down to
¼" thick. Tall Versa-Stops protrude above a
¾"-thick workpiece for easy confirmation of
workpiece alignment. Versa-Stops cannot be
positioned under the saw track when cutting
material less than ¼" thick.
(1) Position two Versa-Stops in a row of
holes perpendicular to the guide track
and as far apart as the workpiece allows.
ATTENTION:
For workpieces ¼" or thicker, one short Versa-Stop
should be placed under the guide track as close to the cut line as possible.
(2) Place the edge of workpiece against
the Versa-Stops and under guide track.
(3) Lower guide track onto workpiece
and make the cut.
ATTENTION:
Using the instructions for 90° cuts, verify the
calibration of the table-track rulers by setting a Repetitive Stop at the 10"
mark and cutting a test workpiece. (See Repetitive Stops.) Measure the
workpiece and make any necessary adjustments to the track rulers.
(1) Position two Versa-Stops in a row of
holes diagonal to the guide track and as far
apart as the workpiece allows.
ATTENTION:
For workpieces ¼" or thicker, one short Versa-Stop
should be placed under the guide track as close to the cut line as possible.
(2) Place the edge of workpiece against
the Versa-Stops and under track.
(3) Lower the track onto workpiece
and make the cut.
