Checking the Tightness (fig. D)
If you suspect a leak, there are seven connections and/or conditions of the seals that you can check:
A. Valve tip to gas connection
B. Valve tip to valve body or large hexagon nut on the valve body
C. Control knob to valve body
D. Gas hose to valve body
E. Gas hose to adapter
F. Adapter to gas cartridge
G. O-ring in adapter
To check if there is a leak, apply soapy water to the connections. If bubbles form, there is a leak. The
affected seal must be replaced and/or the affected nut must be tightened.
Replacing the Seals (fig. E)
E1. Seal on the adapter. Remove the black silicone seal and insert a new one.
E2. Seals on the valve tip. Carefully remove the seals without damaging the brass body of the valve
tip. Moisten a new O-ring seal and roll it into the designated groove. Repeat for the second seal.
Replacing the Gas Burner Container (fig. F)
The gas burner container is a wearing part and should be replaced from time to time. Gas burner
containers with cracks or holes must be replaced as soon as possible. You can purchase replace-
ment parts from your LotusGrill retailer. The replacement container is delivered without a brass riser
pipe, for the sake of the environment. The existing riser pipe can be reused. To remove the existing
brass pipe from the used container, follow these steps:
F1. Turn the gas burner container upside down. See illustrations.
F2. Loosen the locknut (B) with an open-end wrench (SW21) or a pipe wrench. Turn the nut counter-
clockwise. A few turns are enough.
F3. Now turn the brass tube (A) counterclockwise until it becomes unscrewed from the container
holder (C). If necessary, insert a thin rod through the air supply holes to loosen the brass tube.
ATTENTION
F4. Remove the new replacement container from the packaging and place the riser pipe with lock nut
onto the short-threaded piece (C) on the bottom of the container.
F5. Turn the riser pipe clockwise until it stops hand-tight.
F6. Turn the locknut on the riser pipe clockwise until it stops.
F7. Take an open-end wrench (SW21) or pipe wrench and tighten the locknut. The gas burner contai-
ner is now ready to be used.
Pay attention to possible sharp edges on the used container.
Wear work gloves.
