Remote Button Descriptions
RM-V701
General
[1] To set up the Commander.
[8] *Volume up: +
Volume down: —
[9] "To mute the volume on TV or
receiver (amplifier).
[10] To switch to the operation of each
component. Select the position on
which the desired component is
assigned with the VISUAL/
AUDIO selector and the slide
Switch.

[11] To turn on and off the power of
the selected component.
* These buttons control the volume
of either TV or recciver (amplifier).
See "Controlling the Volume of
Video Components Connected to
an Audio System" for details.
Operating a TV, VCR or Cable box
[2] TV: To display the current
channel on TV.
VCR: To expose the on-screen
display (Sony VCR only).
To change the input mode.
To change the channel.
For
example, to change to channel 5,
press 0 and 5 (or, press S and
ENTER.)
TV: To move the cursor of the
MENU display upward,
downward,
left, or right
VCR:
b: To play.
M: To stop.
«a. To rewind.
P: To fast-forward.
[7] TV: To call up the MENU display
VCR: To record, press & whilc

[12 TV: To operate the Picture-in-
Picture function.
Pressing each button while
pressing the PIP button operates
as the table below.

* There may be cases you may turn
on/off the cable box by pressing
the CH+ or CH- buttons on the
Commander.
* If your cable box can control
volume, be sure to set its volume
control to a medium position. If
the volume on the cable box is
turned down completely, you will
not be able to adjust your TV's
volume with the Commander.

* If the "window" picture does not turn off this way, try pressing ENTER while
pressing PIP.
Operating a DBS tuner
[3] To switch the output of the DBS
receiver to the TV. (When vou
connect a TV cable or antenna to
the receiver, the output switches
between a TV and DBS progra.)
[4] To change the channel.
For
example, to change to channel 5,
press 0 and 5 (or press 5 and
ENTER).
[5] To bring up the Master Guide.
[6] To scroll through the Master
Guide.
To call up the MENU display.
[13 To bring up the Station Index.
Operating a Receiver
[4] To select the input source:

[2] CD player/MD deck/DAT deck:
To select numbers 10 and abovc.
For example, to sclect track 15,
press DISP and then press 5.
[4] CD player/MD deck/DAT deck:
To select the track number.

selects track 10. To select track
numbers above 10, see the
descriptions in |2] above.
Tape deck: To select the tape
deck and direction:
1 selects Deck A (dual cassette:
deck only").
2 selects Deck B(dual cassette
deck only").
O functions as 4 reverse button,
or switches play sides.
(The other buttons do not have
assigned functions)

sets of tape operating buttons and
has no A/B button for deck
selection, use the numeric buttons
(land 2): button J selects Deck A,
and button 2 selects Deck B.

set of tape operating buttons, and
has an A/B button for the deck
selection, use the RECALL button to
select Deck A or B
