CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION !
- Before each season, make sure that the grate and the bowl are clean and do not need to be cleaned,
and that the appliance is stable and shows no signs of: mechanical damage, burning of the hearth or
sharp parts of the structure.
- The appliance must be cooled down for all maintenance work to be carried out.
- The appliance must not be cleaned with corrosive agents.
- When the appliance is not in use, ash must be removed from the stove, the steel top and grate must
be cleaned of any impurities (baking and roasting residue, ash, dust), and the surface must be treated
with cooking oil to prevent oxidation.
- In case of rust, use a wire brush and fine sandpaper to remove it and re-protect the surface with
cooking oil.
- It is not allowed to make any changes in the construction of the device.
- When replacing individual components, use only original parts available from the manufacturer.
RUST - THE PROCESS
many everyday items in the kitchen (knives, baking trays, tins) or barbecue (grill, main plate, acces-
sories, etc.) are made of ordinary carbon steel (sometimes coated - to prevent rusting and sticking of
food). This material has the property that over time it rusts, covering itself with a brown, brittle and
non-uniform thin layer of iron compounds, commonly called rust. There is absolutely nothing strange
about this, it is a normal and predictable process during which steel changes due to chemical reactions
occurring on the surface of steel elements. This phenomenon is more intense if the objects are expo-
sed to external factors such as water, moisture.
HOW TO REMOVE RUST
To clean the rust that appears on the working parts of the grill - the grate and the top - we can use
common food products: acid and salt work best. use a mixture of table salt and citric acid. Combine
these two ingredients with a small amount of water until a thick slurry is formed. Then apply it to the
rusted surface and leave it for about half an hour. after this time, thoroughly scrub the vessel with a
sharp sponge or wire brush, rinse and dry.
If you do not have citric acid, you can replace it with baking soda and a little water to make a paste.
Simply apply it to the rusted item for a few minutes, then scrub thoroughly with a sharp sponge or
scouring pad, then wash and dry.
PROTECTION AGAINST RUST - GREASE IS THE BASIS
Protecting steel components against rust - grease is key!
In order to protect components against the reappearance (or first appearance) of rust, we must coat
them with a thin layer of grease. We do this before the first use (in the case of newly purchased acces-
sories) and after each subsequent use. The best way to do this is to use vegetable oil or a piece of lard,
which is spread on the elements, leave it for a few moments, and then wipe the surface with a paper
towel to get rid of excess grease.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
all packaging material in which the equipment was shipped should be disposed of in a manner ap-
propriate to its type.
When you have finished using the device, please recycle it. The user is obliged to hand over the device
to an appropriate institution for recycling of such devices.
