MAKING A PE RFE CTBAC K™

BO OK
Now you can make books that look just like paperbacks
– where the front cover, spine, and back cover are all one
piece. With our Perfectback strips you can create books
with continuous graphics on your wraparound soft cover!
You will need a Powis Parker Scorer
covers. It is the easiest machine on the market for
sighting and positioning exactly where your scores will
be made for any thickness of book up to 1½ inches thick.
It even automatically centers your spine title! Ask your
dealer for details on this unique product.
If you are making a book using a Perfectback LF and
PS strip the binder will detect the strip type and
automatically go into the proper mode. To bind books
using a Perfectback™-TA strip you need to go to
Settings, then select Cover Binding, then ON. Note the
choices you then have for optimal results using different
printed covers.
Keep in mind that most kinds of paper work in a
Perfectback bind, but if you're unsure, do a trial bind.
Follow these steps to make a Perfectback book:
1. Assemble your document pages. Do not include a
cover at this point. Tap the pages on any fl at surface
to ensure they are straight and aligned. Now put
your document in the binder, and slide it all the way
to the right. (fi g. 17)
2. Be sure your pages are aligned, then press the green
BIND button to clamp them. (fi g. 18)
3. Insert the correct width Perfectback LF, PS, or TA
strip, adhesive side up, into the binder.
4. When the clamps open, take your book out of
the binder and put it in the cooling rack for a few
minutes. HINT: Rest the book directly against
the cooling rack. If there are other books there, it
should be placed at the back of the stack instead of
in front of another book. (fi g 23)
5. While your book is cooling, select your cover. Make
sure it's more than large enough to wrap around
your entire document pages on all sides.
