Possible cause(s)
Safety interlock system has actuated. To start the engine, first sit down on
Battery not connected properly.
Empty or weak battery.
Fuse has tripped.
Loose earth (ground) lead between
engine and frame.
Choke and throttle at wrong position. Actuate the choke.
Carburettor not receiving any fuel,
fuel tank empty.
Defective or dirty spark plug.
No ignition spark.
Too much oil in engine.
Defective engine.
Damaged blade drive shaft or
defective cutting blade.
Engine speed too low.
Travelling speed too high.
Cutting blade is blunt.
V-belt torn.

Remedy
the driver's seat. Press down fully
the brake pedal or engage the locking
brake.
Switch off the cutters when your
appliance features a PTO switch
or PTO-lever.
Fit a grass catcher attachment or
deflector to machines with a rear
discharge.
Connect the red cable to the positive
(+) terminal on the battery and the
black cable to the negative (–) terminal
on the battery.
Depending on the battery type, check
the liquid level in the battery.
If required, top up with distilled water
up to 1 cm below the filler neck.
Then charge the battery.
Exchange fuse. If the fuse trips
repeatedly, find the cause
(usually short-circuit).
