13. Adjusting the downward pressure

Adjustment
13.1
When correctly adjusted, the downward pressure prevents the creation of tripping hazards at floor level in the loading area during loading/
unloading as the leveller platform continuously exerts downward pressure on the vehicle floor.
EN
The prescribed adjustment value for the downward pressure is 100N in the working area of the leveller and must be measured using a
spring balance at the tip of the leveller platform which rests on the vehicle:
If the downward pressure requires adjustment, the leveller platform must be swung into the resting position until the automatic safety
lock mechanism engages.
After loosening the lock nut (1), the compression spring unit can be tensioned by turning the adjustment nut (2) clockwise to reduce the
downward pressure. The downward pressure can be increased by turning the adjustment nut counter clockwise.
If the leveller is fitted with multiple compression spring units, all of the compression springs must adjusted to the same extent! Ensure
that adjustment is only made in small steps (repeat several times as required) as even slight changes to the compression spring setting
have a significant effect on operation of the leveller.
To check the downward force, swing the leveller platform down into the working area. When doing so, note that the strength required to
operate the leveller may be unexpectedly high under certain circumstances; the user should therefore pay particular attention to finding
a stable footing when operating the leveller.
After completing adjustment, the position of the adjustment nut (2) must be secured using the lock nut (1).
13.2
13.3
If the leveller platform does not descend until it reaches the end stop:
do not subject the leveller platform to any load or push it downwards violently! Failure to comply with this instruction may cause damage
to the compression spring unit!
the downward pressure must be increased by decreasing the compression spring tension!
This completes installation.
16
Instruction!
After each change to the downward pressure, check that the leveller platform
descends until it contacts the end stops!.
This installation manual must be given to the customer and kept safely during the entire period of use!
