Operation "MANUAL MODE"
5.10.2 Selections by the User
The Type of Vehicle must always be set and it must be
done before extracting the rim position reading arm.
5.10.2.1 Manual entering of the Ofset
If automatic determination of the distance rim/machine
is not possible (error code E 92), the distance can be
determined manually.
Fig. 5-44b
Determining distance by measurement
X Distance between cabinet cover edge and rim
A Value X (as measured) less 5 mm = Value A to be
entered.
—
Measure the distance X between cabinet cover
edge and rim.
The value A to be inserted corresponds to X less 5mm.
— Press the arrows for the Distance (B, Fig. 4-6) to
set the calculated value.
— Enter the value to assign the datum once the desired
value is reached.
5.10.2.2 Manual entering of the rim Width
In Manual Mode, the Width dimension must always
be entered by the operator. First of all the nominal rim
width is required.
If rim width is not given on the rim, it can be measured
on standard rims using the optional rim width callipers
(Ref. no. EAA0247G21A) (Fig. 5-44c).
— Open the RIM DATA ENTRY screen.
— Read the nominal diameter on the rim or tyre and
note it down.
— Touch one of the green arrows for the Width (A,
Fig. 4-6); the box (A1, Fig. 4-6) around the datum
indicates that the selection is in progress.
— Type in the box to assign the datum, once you have
reached the desired value.
Note: The Width value is displayed in red (A2,
Fig. 4-6) if the datum is not assigned to the
machine.
5.10.2.3 Manual entering of the rim Diameter
Read the nominal rim diameter directly on the rim
or tyre itself.
• Open the RIM DATA ENTRY screen.
• Press on the Distance value (C, Fig. 4-6), or the
relative green arrows; the number box indicates the
possibility of editing the data item.
• Manually turn the wheel forward or back to obtain
the value corresponding to that measured, then
press again to the set the value.
