Journeys outside the residence should only be carried out with sufficient
driving experience. If possible, someone should accompany the child.
To make it easier to negotiate obstacles, the companion must position
the wheelchair at a right angle to the obstacle by pressing the tip assist
with the foot.
According to the German traffic regulations (STVZO) dated 1/1/1981,
manually operated wheelchairs travelling on public roads (including
pavements) must have permanently attached illumination.
This consists of (passive):
•
two red reflectors in the back
•
two yellow reflectors on the side (on both sides).
