5.3.3 DFB MEASURE function (Distributed Feedback)
Measurement parameters
Peak Wavelength Is the wavelength at which peak amplitude occurs.
Peak Amplitude
Is the power level of the DFB's main spectral component.
BW
Bandwidth of the main spectral component for the DFB source. Due
to the narrow line width of most DFB sources, the result of this
measurement for an unmodulated laser is limited by the resolution
bandwidth of the optical spectrum analyser.
SMSR
(Side Mode Suppression Ratio) is the amplitude ratio of the main
spectral component and the largest side mode (not necessarily the
first side mode) within the current trace.
Mode Off
(Mode Offset) wavelength separation between the main spectral
component and the next highest mode within the current trace
span. Negative values indicate the next highest mode lies to the left
of the main mode and positive values indicate the next highest
mode lies to the right of the main mode.
