8) Filling port cap. Intended to protect the filling port, comprises a vent hole that permits pressure discharge during
unscrewing in the case in which the non-return device has not prevented pressurisation of the filling port.
Pressure reducer with fixed setting. Is the device that allows the valve to reduce pressure in the cylinder (P1) to the fixed

pressure (P2).
10) Low pressure safety valve.
Hose barb for connection of supply line (mask).

Port for quick-connect outlet (optional, see Appendix A). Using the quick-connect outlet, rate of flow cannot be regulated

and gas can be delivered only using a specific probe.
13) Flow selector knob. Used to set the flow rate required at the outlet of the hose barb.
14) Gauge. Indicates the pressure of the gas contained in the cylinder. May be on or off. Features a graduated scale or
coloured sectors; if the needle is in the red zone, gas is low and cylinder must be replaced.
15) Non-return device. Prevents pressurisation of the filling port during use of the valve. If the cylinder is to be completely
emptied before next filling, a specific adapter furnished by Pergola s.r.l. is required. For further information, contact

The valve can be used in emergencies by doctors or specifically trained staff to supply other therapeutic devices
Valve safety components
The value also includes various safety components intended to prevent malfunctioning and/or contamination of the gas supplied
(see Figure 2). These are detailed below:
A. Rupture disc (5), if installed, prevents overpressure in the cylinder.
B. Low pressure safety valve (10) which protects certain parts of the valve against breakage in the case of malfunctioning of
the pressure reducer with fixed setting (9).
C. Non-return device (15) which prevents cylinder blow-down if the cap is not fitted on the filling port.
D. Residual pressure valve (6) which maintains a minimum positive pressure in the cylinder (residual pressure). This
pressure cannot be used and is not shown on the gauge.
Excess flow device (3). Intervenes in the case of breakage of the valve or parts of this.
