6 .1 .2 Inserting a material strip into the printhead

Insert a material strip into the printhead.
1 Printhead locking lever
2 Knurled knob
3 Margin stops
4 Light barrier
5 Sensor
1 Turn the lever counterclockwise to lift the printhead.
2 Adjust the margin stops using the knurled knob so that
the material fits between the two margin stops.
3 Guide the consumable material strip above the internal
winder through to the print unit.
4 Guide the consumable material strip through the light
barrier so that the consumable material strip exits the
print unit between printhead and the print roller.
; The material is inserted into the printhead.

6 .1 .3 Adjusting the light barrier

To adapt to the material, the light barrier can be moved
perpendicular to the direction of paper feed. The sensor
for the light barrier is visible from the front through the
print unit and is marked with an indentation on the light
barrier holder. When the device is switched on, a yellow
LED also illuminates the sensor position.

1 Loosen the screw.
2 Using the handle, position the light barrier so that the
sensor can record the gap or a reflex or perforation
mark.
- or, when the materials do not have
a rectangular shape, -
3 Align light barrier using the handle with the front edge
of the label in the direction of paper feed.
4 Tighten the screw.
; The light barrier is adjusted.
Only for operation in tear-off mode:
1 Turn the lever clockwise to lock the printhead.
; The material is inserted for operation in tear-off mode.
